What is NDIS plan management?

Plan management is a support that helps you manage the funding in your NDIS plan. A plan manager pays your providers on your behalf, keeps track of your budget, and handles all the financial administration — so you can focus on your goals.

Is plan management funded by the NDIS?

Yes. Plan management is fully funded by the NDIS as a separate line item in your plan. It does not come out of your other support budgets, so choosing a plan manager costs you nothing extra.

How do I get plan management added to my plan?

You can request plan management at your planning meeting or plan review by telling your NDIS planner or Local Area Coordinator (LAC) that you would like to be plan managed. If you already have an active plan, you can request a plan review to have it added.

How quickly can Altruplan get started?

Once we receive your signed service agreement and your plan details, we can typically be up and running within one business day. We will contact your providers to let them know where to send invoices.

What does Altruplan actually do for me?

Altruplan receives and verifies invoices from your providers, checks them against your NDIS price guide and plan budget, pays them on your behalf, and provides you with regular budget statements so you always know where your funding stands.

Can I still choose my own providers?

Absolutely. Plan management gives you the freedom to use any NDIS-registered or unregistered provider. You are not limited to registered providers the way you would be under agency management.

What is the difference between plan management and self-management?

With self-management you handle all the financial administration yourself — paying invoices, claiming from the NDIS portal, and keeping records. Plan management hands all of that to Altruplan while you retain full choice and control over which providers you use and what supports you purchase.

How do providers submit invoices?

Providers can email invoices directly to your dedicated Altruplan inbox. We review each invoice to ensure it complies with the NDIS price guide before processing payment.

How long does it take for providers to be paid?

We aim to process compliant invoices within three business days of receipt. Providers are paid via direct bank transfer, and we notify them once payment has been made.

What happens if an invoice is incorrect?

If we identify an issue — such as a rate above the NDIS price guide or missing information — we will contact the provider directly to resolve it before processing. We will also keep you informed throughout the process.

How do I know how much funding I have left?

You will receive regular budget statements from Altruplan showing your total funding, what has been spent, and what remains in each support category. You can also contact us at any time for an up-to-date balance.

What happens if I am running low on funds?

We monitor your budgets closely and will alert you when a support category is approaching its limit. This gives you time to review your spending, adjust your supports, or speak with your support coordinator about a plan review.

Do my providers need to be NDIS-registered?

No. One of the key benefits of plan management is that you can use both registered and unregistered providers. This gives you a much wider choice of supports and specialists.

Can I change providers at any time?

Yes. You are free to change providers whenever you choose. Simply let us know and we will update our records so invoices from your new provider are processed correctly.
